Core concept of the design movement
Art Nouveau
• Art form appropriate to the modern age
• All the arts should work in harmony to create a “ total work of art”.
• Making beauty and harmony a part of everyday life, artists make people’s lives better by representing art in painting, jewelry and architecture and other more.
• Intension of Art Nouveau is to break all connections to classical times and bring down the barriers between the fine arts and applied arts.
How and why the movement is connected with my design ?
Art Nouveau is connected to my design in term of the organic shapes that are used in doodling and drawing. In addition, the mission is similar to Art Nouveau that is making beauty and harmony a part of everyday life, artists make people’s lives better.
Art movement was the main source of inspiration in creating my theme as to define my own movement. Therefore, I chose Art Nouveau because it carries the same meaning that I want to show in my theme.

Research CD package design
I started to search for Art movements to find a theme for my CD design and i was drawn to the Art Nouveau and pop art. I looked for graphic design book that contains topics that might be useful for the CD design that are the typography, layout and packaging design.
i also collected a lot of examples of CD design from various resources (books+sites).

facts and ideas i was inspired by :
- Exploring the UAE architecture that reflect the Emirati style
-Decorative Islamic style shapes and design
Facts: The spread of Emirati cartoon like Freej, Ajaaj and others therefore, I was drawn to the idea of defining an Emirati style in drawing or cartoon.
- I was influenced by the Japanese Manga style becasue it has certain characteristic that is define in its style and used massively in Japanese comic (Manga) and animated cartoon (Anime).

Graffiti Artist & Neo-expressionism
“Keith Haring is often called an urban painter, not only because his style is associated with graffiti, but also because the images seem to be in aggressive motion. The short, exclamatory lines around the dancing figures and barking dogs in this paintings could be seen as indications of violence or anxiety—or as lively and amusing stylistic elements. In this untitled work, figures face off in every direction, creating an explosive effect. Since there is no color to distract or soothe the eye, shape and movement control the painting. Haring says, “A lot of the drawings are about power and force: the transfer of power, power being used for different reasons.”
A vast commercial industry has been built around the visual aesthetic of contemporary painters like Keith Haring. T-shirts, sneakers, jewelry, and greeting cards draw on the brisk icons of the “graffiti school” for their designs. Haring himself capitalized on his own image in a way painters never would have dreamed of before the mass media age. Although the artist died of AIDS in 1990, his foundation continues to sell these products for charitable purposes. Most people take for granted the way famous artworks or styles of painting filter down into mass production of everything from wallpaper to socks. Haring followed in the footsteps of Andy Warhol and others by taking a personal role in this process.”
