About me

Noora Dakhan was born in Dubai, UAE in 1987. She studied at Alitihad Private School from kindergarten until elementary. She graduated high school from Dubai National School. Currently, she is studying at Zayed University for a bachelor degree in art with the concentration of Graphic Design. As an Emirati artist, Noora’s accomplishment of her work is influenced by her society’s religion, culture, and tradition. The cosmopolitan city of Dubai is a main source of inspiration that is reflected in her work. However, she is fascinated to learn about different cultures and depicts that in her artwork. Noora’s accomplishment helped her to improve her skills and knowledge as a graphic designer. She studied in a summer course about cultural differences and misconceptions in 2008 with MICA students from Baltimore, USA at Zayed University. This helped her to understand about other cultures and able to interact with other cultures. Moreover, she participated with artwork in the extremely short story book “Pearls of Emirati Wisdom” and the Color Match Game held at Bastakiya.

This blog will gather and illustrate my projects process of design in the graphic design class as a place to start the explosion of ideas by documenting each process of this long artistic journey.
